The temple is located in the outskirts of the town as other ISKCON temples. As we enter the Vrindavan city, we will find the temple on our left. Local people call this temple by the name Akshaya Patra Temple that means a scheme whose objective is to provide meals to the kids studying in the nearby schools of Vrindavan. The temple is made up in the shape of a huge lotus which reminds the devotees of the lotus feet of the Lord. At the entrance on the ground floor, one can find a huge kitchen where mid-day meals are cooked and served to poor kids.
On the first floor of the temple deities of Lord Krishna and RadhaRani are kept in golden Mandapa. The colour of the deities is white. The golden Mandapa is surrounded with pink color-arch like structure. On the doors, idols of Garud and Hanuman are carved. On the other side of the temple visitors can also see beautiful peacock paintings. The temple main hall is the most attractive point of the temple and the first stop for all devotees. Outside the temple, we can always find an official of the temple distributing the khichdi prasad to the visitors that is prepared in desi ghee.
Inside the temple visitors can see lot of greenery, clean water of pond and the chanting of “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” everywhere. Devotees can also see the reflection of the temple in the pond nearby. Maharaj Radha Chandra Swami was born in 1948 in a small town of America. During his childhood, he use to visit church regularly and after some year he ran away from his house and family to visit India. He studied literature and English in India and lost his interest in Christianity. During his reading of different literature, he read about Lord Krishna when he decided to become his devotee. He met some devotees of Lord Krishna, who were going to Vrindavan, he accompanied them. During his visit Srila Bhaktipada initiated the construction of Radha Vrindavan Chandra Temple. Radha Vrindavan Chandra Swami was a true disciple of Lord Krishna, who devoted his whole life to spread awareness of God.
Most of the visitors prefer to stay in Mathura and visit Vrindavan in the day time. However, some good hotels are available near the temple for accommodation. Hotels are: The Radha Ashok Hotel, Hotel Wingston,Hotel Abhinandan that are 6 kms to 8 kms away from the temple. Devotees can reach Vrindavan by road which is only 10 km away from Mathura.
How to Reach Radha Vrindavan Chandra Temple
By Road, the distance from Delhi to Vrindavan can be covered in 3.5hrs due to heavy traffic .It is located some ninety miles away from Delhi.
Route from Agra to Radha Vrindavan Chandra Temple: If any devotee is travelling from Agra towards the temple Radha Vrindavan Chandra the route details to follow are - Take a turn towards station road ,take a left after 600m.After this take a right turn towards Siddh thakur Nath Marg. From Fatehpur Sikri road drive straight till Badla road.Take a slight move towards right to stay on Radha Raman road.From there take a left towards Mathura road.Move straight o reach Agra-Delhi road .Last turn is towards right at Bhaktivedanta Swami marg where at the end we will reach Radha Vrindavan Chandra Temple.
