Maa Vaishno Devi MandirMaa Vaishno Devi is the goddess of Hindus and she is the one who provides strength and good luck to human beings. Originally Vaishno Mandir is situated in Katra, Jammu where every year lakhs of people visit to tale blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi. But still sometimes people are not able to go their for worship. Considering this fact, Jay Kay Trust, headed by its Managing Trustee Sh. J C Chaudhry purchased land in 2003 to construct Maa Vaishno Devi Mandir in another holy land of Lord Krishna. Sh. J C Chaudhry is a strong believer of Maa Vaishno Devi and soon in May 2010 he came up with this sprawling and marvelous Maa Vaishno devi Mandir in Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh).

This amazing temple is situated at the heart of Vrindavan at Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg near Chhatikara. It is built on 11 acres of land with amazing facilities like dispensary, library along with two dharmshalas constructed for visitors to stay in temple premises and one spiritual hall which is again clubbed with amazing meditation centre, a yoga centre and a large langar (food) hall. All these facilities provided in this temple to provide comfort and peace to devotees.

This temple is created with lots of devotion and handwork. And Sh. J C Chaudhry's vision accomplished with the help of experienced architecture from Design well India (P) Ltd. in which Mr Arun Verma acted as chief architect and along with young and talented engineers. The signature style of this temple is its huge statue of Maa Vaishno Devi which is beautifully decorated and styled with red color saree clubbed amazingly trinkets and weapons of the goddess, which symbolize her power and strength to fight against evils, elegantly sitting on her royal carrier, Lion. Right next to it, there is another huge statue of Lord Hanuman who is sitting with one folded leg and both folded hands seeking Maa’s blessings. And the amazing part is that all these big statues are placed at the roof of the temple. Any visitor at Vrindavan cannot miss this temple.

Due to its huge size, it can be seen from distant place as well. The total 1,700 ton mass is required at the foundation level along with Raft Foundation at a depth of 4.0 meter below the ground level including that of lion to provide platform and stability to place these huge statue. And the making of Maa Vaishno Devi statue along with her lion employed approx 400 tons of the steel and concrete,which include Mata accessories and other objects. These statue are also tested against earthquake and other massive destruction with the help of computerized softwares and dynamic analysis. Interesting to note that the total height of Maa Vaishno Devi Murti (statue) is 141 feet tall from the ground level. Along with it, the height of the Lion is approx 35 feet from road level. Height of Lord Hanuman statue is 32 feet and length of his Gadda is 26 feet.

There is no entry fees to enter this temple. There is an easy connectivity from Agra (which is approx 70 km distance on NH2) and Delhi (which is approx 145 km distance on NH2). Mathura Junction (MTJ) is the nearest railway station at distant of 10 km from temple. From railway station, you can avail both rickshaw and auto to reach this temple. Landmark is Chatikhara and it is the famous place of Vrindavan. Fare of autos are not much, the rickshawallah from Mathura will not charge more than Rs 30.

How to Reach Maa Vaishno Devi Mandir


If you are traveling from Delhi, then you can avail both bus or private cab as per your budget and preference. The bus from Delhi will not cost you more than Rs 100 per person. There are limited buses which directly come into Vrindavan, otherwise you can avail Agra bus from Delhi and leave it at Chatikara bus stand and then from there you can fix a rickshaw to this amazing place of Maa Vaishno Ashram at Vrindavan. And the rickshawallah from Chatikara will cost you around Rs.10-15 to reach this temple. This temple remains open throughout week.

This is an amazing place to visit and offers players. Not just that you can also arrange Mata ki Chowky or Jagrata inside the temple. For that you need to schedule a prior booking. This is definitely a must watch place of Vrindavan.
